sweet peaches, basil, and coconut ice cream

Yesterday we went to the Hillsdale Farmer’s Market in SW Portland. By far the best market to date. The street was lined with local venders with stands full of fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade pastas (gluten-free options too), homemade cheeses, fresh flowers, you name it! We picked out an assortment of goodies to try over the course of the week including these delectable sweet peaches.

It’s been very warm and quite humid here in the valley and what better way to cool-down then a homemade treat such as sweet peaches with basil, peach, and a 2005 Joh.Jos.Prum Resisling sauce all over coconut ice cream. Thanks to my wonderful love whom made the desert and took all the photos. What a treat!

Sounds great! Love the top photo. It all looks and sounds delicious. I’ve heard the southern peaches are really succulent this year.

You better hang on to that guy.

Looks delicious – great pics. We have been having good luck with peaches and nectarines as well as berries and melons too. I think a moist winter helps with producing juicier fruits and veggies this year.

Looks like a delicious treat! Unfortunately the peaches here are nowhere near as good as they are further south on the continent, but luckily we have our own northern delicacies 🙂

  4. I have to ask….where’s the recipe for the coconut ice cream!? It sounds delicious!

I have to admit, we didn’t make the ice cream 😦 I bought it. But an ice cream maker is on the very top of my to get list!~
