There was a time when bullfrogs and bulldogs weren’t even a figment of my imagination. When I wore chucks and skinny jeans and took the bus to and from work to downtown Seattle. Well, all that has changed and here I am, lying in bed with my love listening to the bullfrog mating calls and the bulldog sleeping on the floor below us snoring. And so it begins, my new life living on a farm. I’ve traded in the chucks for muck boots and the skinny jeans for Carharts, (although they are still in my closet for that random day I will put them on again).

This blog is a personal account of my transition from living in the city to living a more sustainable life with my love on the family vineyard and farm. I expect to learn a little more everyday and grow closer to my authentic self, that calm and peacefulย  lover of all things nature and wholesome, that country girl at heart. ย I invite you and yours along for the journey. Enjoy.

This is Isis and Maddy, in that order. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting these two well, they are quite the characters. Both with distinct personalities and the kindest of hearts.

This is my Lucy. The sweetest and most loyal cat you will ever know whom also happens to have the most unique meow you just may ever come across. She also doesn’t have a tail. I think it adds to her beautiful charm.

And this is Oliver. He likes to act tough but is a big momma’s boy at heart. He’s soft and fluffy and a little OCD but he is a sweetheart. A typical boy, always wanting to be out playing in the dirt.

I am trying my hand at this blogging thing (it’s been a week now) so I look to the freshly pressed to see what I like and don’t like. I very much like your blog. Your words, your pictures, and the details cause me reminisce about my childhood of growing up on a small farm. I look forward to reading more.

I love the Intro. I have been enjoying following your journey and your quest. I also have two dogs and twp cats, and one of my cats is missing most of his tail as well ๐Ÿ™‚ As for the others: one dog has three legs (my last was in a wheelchair), the other cat thinks he is a Great Dane, and the newest dog is…well…retarded in the most lovable way!

    Thanks for the follow, too.

My deepest apologies. A slip of my finger on my iPhone led to the deletion of my descriptions of the blogs I follow. I apologize to any of your readers who looked for you under “Other Cool People” on my blog. The descriptions have been painstakingly rewritten. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving your comments! I have 2 cats myself and am basically a city girl from Singapore before moving to the UK with my husband. Am looking forward to your future posts, thanks for sharing!

    Hi, Amanda!
I wanted to leave a note here before I continue replying to the comments on my blog (I’m fairly certain you know what it’s like).
This is truly a nice blog you have here and though I live on the other side of the world, I find all these very interesting. Your writing and photos have much to do with it.
    Happy blogging! ๐Ÿ™‚
